• November 11 -- Arafat Dies, But At Least the Mrs. Lives Modestly
The Times can’t seem to fit the word “terrorist” on the front page today to describe PLO boss Yasir Arafat on the occasion of his death in Paris. But at least they focus on the missing billion dollars or so he controlled, and how his wife apparently lives on an allowance of $100,000 a month, a sum the
Times explained was “relatively small.”
• October 5 -- Poor Palestinians on Anniversary of Intifada
Steven Erlanger paints the Palestinian terror intifada in Timesian moral equivalence: "Among the more than 3,000 dead, more than three Palestinians die for every Israeli, and among the Palestinian dead, though figures are hard to come by, easily more than half are civilians."
